Preparing for Peak Play

As the weather warms and daylight hours increase, our team is actively preparing the course for the busy season ahead. Here’s what’s happening around the grounds:

Bunker Preparation

We’re currently controlling weeds and grass runners in our bunkers ahead of scheduled maintenance. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be edging bunker faces and levelling sand to enhance both playability and presentation.

Increased Mowing Frequency

With rising temperatures and more sunlight, grass growth is accelerating. This requires more frequent mowing across all playing surfaces to maintain optimal turf conditions.

Turfing Works

Minor turfing jobs are underway, particularly around cart path walk-offs, to repair wear and improve overall aesthetics.

Irrigation Enhancements

Wetting agents are now being injected weekly into our irrigation mainlines during nighttime watering. This improves soil moisture retention and ensures even distribution across the course.

Weed and Rough Management

We’re focusing on controlling winter weeds in the roughs and continuing to mow deep rough areas, which have flourished with recent cooler weather and rainfall.

Fertilisation Program

Granular fertiliser has been applied to the fairways and tee tops on the Tuart course. The Old Course is scheduled for fertilisation next week.

Irrigation System Maintenance

Preventive maintenance is ongoing. We’ve recently completed flow testing on our lake fill bores, probes, and static water levels to ensure system efficiency.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to enhance the playing experience across the course.
