Our Golf Courses

THE OLD COURSE

The Old Course dates back to 1932, when Walter Fox set out the initial eighteen holes.

Stretching to nearly 5,800 meters from the back tees, this par-72 course still features original routing and a number of dog legs.

THE TUART COURSE

The Tuart Course has evolved since the first nine was completed in 1959 and is slightly shorter than the Old Course.

Measuring a total of 5,372 meters from the back tees, this par-70 course features tighter fairways and water features on two holes.

Julian Putter - or as we fondly call him, “Putts” - has now been part of the Wembley Golf Course team for 15 years. 🎉

Starting as a Pro Shop Assistant in 2010, he quickly progressed to Stock Coordinator just 18 months later. Over the years, Putts has witnessed and contributed to the growth of the facility, helping shape it into what it is today.

Originally from South Africa, Julian began his career as a PGA professional at Pezula in 2005 and managed the Pro Shop from 2006 to 2010 before moving to Australia. Wembley Golf Course was his first Aussie job - and he’s never looked back!

Julian says it’s been a privilege to watch the course evolve over the years. Outside of work, he enjoys coaching cricket, fishing, and of course, playing golf.

His story is a powerful reminder that doing what you love can make all the difference. His cystic fibrosis diagnosis initially inspired him to pursue his passion for golf, and we’re so glad he did.

Thank you, Julian, for 15 incredible years. What an achievement!

Talk about lucky! 🍀

The winner of our Ryder Cup giveaway, Justin, came to collect his prize this morning. Whilst he was here having a hit at the range, he also won a golden ball!

We shall see if the luck continues on Sunday the 12th of October when he is given the chance to take home $250k!

Meet Joel Cugini, one of our star greenkeepers at Wembley Golf Course. Joel joined the team back in March 2009 as an apprentice and has witnessed nearly every major transformation since - from the new clubhouse and driving range to mini golf, fairway renovations, and building countless tee boxes and greens.

Although greenkeeping wasn’t his original career plan, Joel fell in love with the outdoors and now calls Wembley his “little slice of heaven in the middle of the city.”

Known as the animal lover of the team, Joel enjoys social rounds of golf when he can, and outside of work, he’s all about beach days, footy, and spending quality time with his two kids.

Make sure to say hi if you see him out on the course! 👋

Tuart Course Hole 17 ⛳

Sitting at 304m from the black tees, the 17th of the Tuart presents an opportunity to play to your strengths and finish your round on a high.

A tip from PGA professional, Tyler Clark:

A well-thought-out tee shot with an iron or hybrid up the left side is ideal. This opens up the green and gives you a great chance to hit a short iron in without too much trouble from the trees.

The green has a few helpful slopes on the right side - use them to your advantage and keep your approach on that side. Big hitters might go for it with driver - but beware, the trees are waiting.

Smart, steady golf will pay off more than taking unnecessary risks here.

Happy International Thank A Superintendent Day! ⛳

Today, we want to give a huge shoutout to Nick Kinley and his incredible team of greenkeepers. Their tireless work behind the scenes keeps our grounds in top-notch condition all year round.

To consistently present 36 amazing holes every day, especially with the sheer number of rounds we experience, is truly something to admire.

If you see any of the team today, or any day, be sure to say thanks! 👏
