The Town of Cambridge is proud to announce that Wembley Golf Course (WGC) has become the first golf course in Western Australia to achieve silver status under the revised Waterwise Golf Program. This recognition underscores WGC’s commitment to sustainable water management practices.
WGC General Manager Jason Roach expressed his pride, stating: “This achievement highlights our dedication to reducing water consumption while maintaining the quality of our course. We’re committed to best practices that benefit both our golfers and Perth’s future.”
The Waterwise Golf Program, a joint initiative between the Golf Course Superintendents Association of Western Australia and the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, promotes sustainable water use across the state’s golf courses. WGC earned its silver status through advanced management of water consumption and improved turf management techniques.
Mr Roach added: “In a drying climate, securing groundwater through sustainable practices is vital. Our efforts contribute to creating a liveable and resilient Perth.”
